Hello and welcome if you’re new, welcome back if you aren’t to another video. Well, actually, welcome to everyone cause I got something new for you. This is a review for PiXXiE DED.

First Impressions: Weh French a guh?? Chimmon!!!!!!!! I’m feeling this song a little more by the chorus. Okay rapper!! Get it. Oh, these girls seh multi-part. I guess it helps that it’s three of them. A lot of it is very typical Asian girl group things, but I do like the vibe I’m getting — they seem to bring out some different colours. Wah Chimmon a do?? Oh, we get an outro…nice.

PiXXiE is a Thai girl group under LIT Entertainment. The group consists of members Mabelz, Pimma and Ingkho [insert each member]. They debuted on February 11, 2021, with the track, ‘เด็ด’.

What I liked: Chimmon [insert image] has quickly become one of my favourite Thai actors, (a fave in general) and seeing him in the video is enough fan service for me. I would end it here, but that would be unfair to ladies. I do also like the individuality afforded to these girls in their dress [insert group shot] and mannerisms in their solo shots [insert solo shots]. They’re allowed to be sexy in their own way. The dancing is simple enough, from what I’ve seen, not as frilly as a lot of Asian pop tends to be. And don’t get me started on the instrumental [insert audio of chorus]. It wasn’t what I was expecting, some of the instruments used and how they were used really made me have to listen carefully. Nothing groundbreaking per se, but more of a shattering of norms than a full break.

What I disliked: Not much really. Other than a very small amount of wow moments, everything else was what I thought it would be going in. I am neither turned off nor impressed by this. I simply accept it for what it is.

Understanding the video: That’s the other thing, the song is very much about young love of some kind — even without reading the lyrics. However, there isn’t a lot of time spent trying to win over the love interest [insert three instances of interaction]. There is a lot of focus on the performance and the girls in their specified locations. But even that isn’t too far off from expected.

Ok, so what I thought was French was just English. No problem. The lyrics ALMOST read like ‘I’m not like other girls’ but, as I go on, I realise that they’re asking for a more realistic type of courtship. ‘Let’s go dutch…’? YES PLEASE!! Ugh…this song just gets better. I feel like I should just put the lyrics on screen for you to see for yourself. [insert lyrics] Truthfully, I’m not impressed by the lyrics themselves, I’m more impressed at who is delivering them. Asia (from what I’ve seen) likes to perpetuate that what happens in movies can also happen in real life and that then warps people’s perceptions of a good relationship. The fact that these girls are acknowledging that fights and disagreements are also part of the process is refreshing to me. No matter how many people do it.

I think the video and lyrics do compliment each other. Once I read the translations, a lot of imagery became clearer, like the use of all the flowers [insert scenes with flowers] considering what the chorus is really saying. Now the lack of interaction with the main lead also makes sense. They’re accepting that each person needs their own space and for interactions to be more organic (?). Or at least mutually desired.

Ugh…Chimmon would be the only extra thought and that would just be a waste. So…

We’ve come to the end of whatever this is. Thanks for watching thus far. Since you here tek d time to look at the red and blue button below. You can just look, dem nuh important. While you’re there, you can check the black line and mek mi know wah you see. After that, you can look for me in another video. Bye.
